mogelijk te maken, ongeacht of GNU-Linux nieuw is voor u of dat u een
ervaren gebruiker bent.</para>

<title>De Installatiestappen</title>

<title>Installatiewelkomscherm</title>
<para>Welk scherm u precies als eerste ziet als u opstart van het
Installatiemedium, hangt af van of u uw computer in Legacy- (BIOS-) of
UEFI-modus startte.</para>
<para>Het welkomscherm heeft verscheidene opties, de standaard optie zal het
installatieprogramma starten en is gewoonlijk alles dat u nodig heeft.</para>

<para>Vanuit dit scherm kunt u voor meer opties naar de bewerkingsmodus door op de
letter <keycap>e</keycap> te drukken. Druk op de<keycap>Esc</keycap>-toets
om naar dit scherm terug te gaan zonder iets op te slaan of op
<keycap>F10</keycap> om terug te gaan en uw veranderingen wel te bewaren.</para>

<title>Installatieproblemen en mogelijke oplossingen</title>
<section>
<title>Geen grafische interface</title>

<para>Na het eerste scherm kwam u niet bij het
<emphasis>Taalkeuze</emphasis>scherm. Dit kan gebeuren bij sommige
grafische kaarten en oudere systemen. Probeer een lagere resolutie te
gebruiken door <command>vgalo</command> te typen bij de "boot:"-prompt.</para>

<para>Als de hardware erg oud is, kan het zijn dat een grafische installatie niet
mogelijk is. In dit geval is het de moeite waard een tekstmodusinstallatie
te proberen. Klik daartoe op <keycap>ESC</keycap> als u bij het
<emphasis>Welkom</emphasis>scherm bent en bevestig met
<keycap>ENTER</keycap>. U zult een zwart scherm zien met een
<prompt>boot:</prompt>-prompt. Typ <command>text</command> en druk op
<keycap>ENTER</keycap> om verder te gaan met installeren in tekstmodus.</para>

<title>Installatieblokkades</title>
<para>Als het systeem tijdens de installatie blokkeert, kan er een probleem zijn
met de hardwaredetectie. In dit geval kan de automatische detectie van
hardware overgeslagen worden om later te regelen. Type
<command>noauto</command> bij de prompt om dit te proberen. Deze optie mag
zo nodig met andere gecombineerd worden.</para>

<section>
<title>RAM-probleem</title>
<para>Dit zal zelden nodig zijn, maar in sommige gevallen wordt de beschikbare
hoeveelheid RAM onjuist gedetecteerd. U kunt dit handmatig specificeren door
de <literal>mem=<replaceable>xxx</replaceable>M</literal> parameter te
gebruiken, waarin <replaceable>xxx</replaceable> de juiste hoeveelheid RAM
is, bijv. <literal>mem=256M</literal> betekent 256MB aan RAM.</para>

<title>Dynamische partities</title>
<para>Als u uw harde schijf van <literal>Basic</literal>- naar
<literal>Dynamic</literal>-formaat geconverteerd heeft in Microsoft Windows,
dan is het onmogelijk Mageia op deze schijf te installeren. Zie de
